Year 2006 Resolution

Friday, December 30th, 2005

My new year resolution: "To consider my future and to act maturedly. May The Coming Year Be A BETTER Year For BOTH You And I".

To all my friends, gently remind me if i were to detour from my resolution.

Final Poem for Year 2005

Friday, December 30th, 2005

I was taking a nap while listening to Yes!93.3FM and I caught a very sweet love  chinese poem. Obviously, I did catch only part of the whole poem. So, i googled for the phrase and found it. Here it goes.

想你!是很甜蜜的事;

念你!是很窩心的事;

見你!是很開心的事;

請妳!是很光榮的事;

陪妳!是很有趣的事;

愛你!是很應該的事;

騙你!是剛發生的事!

What it means is:

To think of you, is a very sweet thing;

To read you (I suppose it should be to spell out your name), is a very frustrating thing;

To meet you, is a very happy thing;

To please you, is a very honourable thing;

To be with you, is a very interesting thing;

To love you, is a very proper thing;

To deceive you, is something that has just happened.  (I removed this part cos it is kinda not so cool).

With this, let us all leave year 2005 with a great hope that year 2006 would be filled with plenty of LOVE. Be it from family members, friends, spouses and/or boy-/girl-friends.

Nicknames

Tuesday, December 6th, 2005

Throughout the course of life, people are bound to be given nicknames. Some are good names while others are bad. I would argue that nickname plays a good role in placing a bookmark of yourselves on others’ mind. Nickname can also be used to measure social interactions. If you are more sociable(aka one who is more prone to be played a prank on), you are bound to get more nicknames from your friends.

Since young, I have been given plenty of nicknames by my family members and friends. Let me list some of them here:

By my family…

1.  Ai cai (shortie) - I "was" the shortest in my family when i was young.

2. Yia tuai (pampered child) - who to blame? I am the youngest in the family.

By the parent’s friends:

3. Yan Dao Ba (handsome boy) - I "was" handsome when i was young but I am not sure I still am now.

4. Bi Kok Kia (Western child) - By the salesperson, is tat a marketing strategy or is it a compliment on my nose??

By my friends…

5. Ostrich - YJC 2S7 really is made up of animals

6. Kumis (mustache) - NTU 2nd year just cos i keep my mustache

7. Bonding - NTU 3rd Year just cos i rebonded my hair

8. Om Om (Uncle) - NTU 3rd Year, originally from indoNTU Prom Nite

On Virtual world,

9. ^SkIeR_17 - skier is recommended by Hsiao Ling(Bowen Sec friend) if i remembered correctly and 17 is the age i did own a computer and logged onto the internet.

These are to name a few. Social nicknames are funny and memorable. Imagine this… When I grow old and reflect on my social life, I would recall all these nicknames and send a smile to my face :D.

So, wat are your nicknames?
